During her fellowship, Tran Hoang Huyen Tram, 2017–2018 NIDA Humphrey fellow from Vietnam, participated in an expert working group to develop a course on women’s substance abuse. The course is part of the Universal Treatment Curriculum developed by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and the Colombo Plan. In December, Ms. Tran participated in the pilot training for master trainers on the course, Clinical Care of Women With Substance Use Disorders. In April, Ms. Tran met with a delegation of 10 U.S. senators who visited Vietnam as part of a joint U.S.–Vietnam program. The delegation included Sen. Tammy Baldwin (Wisconsin), Sen. Mazie Hirono (Hawaii), Sen. John Hoeven (North Dakota), Sen. Tim Kaine (Virginia), Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vermont), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Sen. Rob Portman (Ohio), Sen. Debbie Stabenow (Michigan), Sen. Tom Udall (New Mexico), and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (Rhode Island).
