Meeting Summary

As part of the annual SGIM conference, a Blending Meeting titled Update in Addiction Medicine for the General Internist, was held on April 25, 2015. The focus for the 2015 SGIM conference was Generalists in Teams: Addition Value to Patient Care, Research and Education. The information provided in this session included updated practices and research for opioid treatment. The Blending Initiative Exhibit was also displayed in the back of the room, and provided participants with the latest resources and materials from NIDA.

Karran A. Phillips, M.D., MSc, served as the session coordinator. The presenters were Aaron Fox, M.D.; Joanna L. Starrels, M.D. MS; and Melissa B. Weimer, DO, MCR.

Goals:

The goal of the meeting were to provide individuals with current information on patient care, research and education on addiction medicine.

Attendance:

There were over 50 people in attendance at this session.
