People seeking addiction treatment for themselves or loved ones will now have an updated resource with questions they should ask potential treatment centers. The revised consumer guide, Seeking Drug Abuse Treatment: Know What to Ask, is evidence-based and is being released in recognition of this year’s National Recovery Month.
The month of September marks the 24th anniversary of National Recovery Month, a national observance led by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Each year, the accomplishments and successes of the millions of Americans whose lives have been transformed through recovery are celebrated. Recovery Month continues to spread a positive message that prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.
In addition, visitors to the NIDAMED website can hear firsthand stories on what recovering patients have learned through addiction and recovery. Also, view our video interviews with leaders in the recovery field, along with our recent teen blog post on the topic, at http://youtu.be/2M4rYZU48EM and http://youtu.be/QYxi4HhpXhw.
